Our Allotment

pumpkin

At The Oval Primary school we have our own plot on the local allotment.  It was set up in October 2004 with the help of Alcoa UK.

Click here to look at our photo's from 2012 growing season.

Mrs Woolaston is the allotment manager.

On our allotment we have 8 large plots, compost makers, 2 sheds and a large greenhouse. Garden Organics have just donated enough money so that we can buy 10 sets of waterproof clothing so that children can work on the allotment whatever the weather!

Each year group have their own plot where they choose what to grow and throughout the year they visit the allotment to maintain their crops.

So far Harvests have included:carrot     beetroot      radish

potatoes

lettuce

carrots

pumpkin

corn

cabbage

beetroot
